Mind Over Matter The engross of Biofeedback to control stress, pain, and opposite bother well-nigh problemsHaving a bad day? Well, I am. I take too much work to do, like always, simply I urgency and consider to graduate. I believe Im happy retributive about that, about lay an end to all the pressure I have felt in these last four years. Then again I am non sure what to think. I will miss my friends, peculiarly all those large number with whom I was briefly acquainted and liked ample to sense the possibility of friendship but will neer receipt now. On sneak of these worries argon more general fears of the uncertainty of the following few years, non to mention the rest of my life. Going home to a place Ive never really liked simply because I offert think of anything better to do scares me the possibility of getting stuck there scares me even more. I need to think a job. I need to find a career. I indigence to go to graduate school at some point, but my grades l ater this semester will not make admission easy. gratuitous to say, there is a lot on my mind. This morning I went in for a doctors appointment, adept a quick check-up because Ive been sick. As is routine, the defend took my split pressure. Then she off and lowered at me. Seems that the pressure Im under is not just weighing wipe out on my mind. My body is responding to my higher level worries by sending my course slamming through me with alarming force. We like to think of stress as a purely higher level function which altogether effects us on that level, and generally ignore the effects it great power have on us on a more biologic as foreign to psychological level, i.e. on the level of our voluntary and autonomic response systems. We expose Doctors on TV and DJs on NPR warning us that stress can kill, but we disregard them until we see ... ...y and promise of a more manage understanding of just what our minds can do. Perhaps the nurses frown is a needed wake up call. I may chance like my life is out of control, but the virtuoso thing I always do is think positive. It will not only amend my mental state, but my physical well existence as well. Besides, things are looking up Ive just finished some other paper.
